Every legal cell phone that was not produced by handicraft has an identification (serial) number. This number, which also has the international name IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identifier), is assigned to the telephone set during production and consists of 15 digits. Each digit in this code has its own meaning. They indicate the country of the manufacturer, phone model, country of final assembly of the device. Finding the serial number of your phone is not difficult at all.
It is necessary
- Documents on the telephone.
- Cellular telephone.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest way to find out the IMEI is to look for it in the product passport or other technical documents that are attached to the phone by the manufacturer. Also, the serial number must be registered in the sales receipt, which must be provided by the seller when buying a phone. It is not uncommon for the identification number to be found on the product box, under the barcode. However, this is not necessary, many mobile phone manufacturers choose not to provide this kind of information on the packaging.
Step 2
If there are no documents and checks at the moment at hand, or they are simply lost over the years, then the identification number can be found inside the telephone itself. Usually, it is stamped under the battery on the phone's label. It should be borne in mind that on the label, the number is always indicated only by the abbreviation IMEI. Opposite this abbreviation, a 15-digit number must be written, which is the identification number of this cell phone.
Step 3
If this information is encrypted with a barcode or the sticker is completely absent, or for some reason it is not possible to read the inscription on it, then there is a third way to find out the serial number of your cellular device. To do this, again, you will need the phone itself, but only necessarily in working order and with a working display. In order to use the third method, you need to dial the following combination of characters on the keyboard of your mobile phone: * # 06 #. As soon as the last pound sign is dialed, the identification number of this telephone set will immediately appear on the phone screen, that is, you do not need to press the "dial-up" key. Usually, information appears immediately, but in rare cases you have to wait (usually no more than 5 seconds). This combination allows you to find out the identification number on any phone model.
