How Android Pay works

For the Android Pay service to work correctly, Google officially imposes minimum requirements for smartphones: an NFC chip must be installed (for making payments) and an Android version of at least 4.4 must be installed.

However, in practice, there are slightly more requirements:

- the service works only on gadgets with official firmware (versions for developers and unpopular assemblies are not supported. That is why not all Chinese phones are suitable for this - Xiaomi, Meizu do not support the service);

- there is a list of smartphones on which Android Pay cannot be enabled. These are Nexus 7, Elephone P9000, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Light and S3.

The android pay service works on terminals with PayPass or PayWave technologies.

Banks who work with the service

Please note that today not all banks support the Android Pay service, however, the list of banks operating in Russia where the service has started successfully is quite wide:

· Raiffeisen Bank;

· Russian standard;

· Rocketbank;

· Opening;

· Sberbank;

· Tinkoff.

The service is also supported by the payment service from Yandex - Yandex money

The interest of sales representatives and stores to support the service clearly indicates the further expansion of the network of partners and consumer opportunities.

How to start using?

The principle of operation is simple and similar to systems from Apple and Samsung. If you are already a payer of google services, and therefore have linked the payment card to your account, then all the necessary data on the payment card will be displayed immediately after installing the Android Pay application on your smartphone. If you have not previously paid for Google services, then after installing the application, you just need to enter all the details manually, and then confirm the fact of connection.

Please note that before you add a card, it is important to set a password on your device, otherwise Android Pay will respond with an error and prevent you from paying anything. After adding the card, you will need to confirm your desire to use the mobile payment system - either using an SMS code, or by calling your bank's customer support service (the cost of confirmation is 30 rubles, which will be returned back to your account in the future).

Payment is made not using real card details, but thanks to a specially formed set of numbers - tokens. They are generated on servers, and then uploaded to each individual device, where they are stored until any payment is made. When the device runs out of tokens, the device asks for Internet access to generate them again and receive them from the server. Another inconvenience is the need to confirm payment actions with a password, key-code or fingerprint (depending on the method of protecting your phone).

To pay for an amount less than 1000 rubles, simply attach the gadget to the terminal with the display turned on. To pay a larger amount, you must also use a password or a fingerprint (which should be attached to the fingerprint sensor).

The Android Pay service also supports online payments. To do this, you need to support the service by an online store in which you want to pay for a product / service. This may be evidenced by the presence of a special icon on the website of the online store (green man Android + the inscription PAY). After clicking on the little man, the user is automatically redirected to the Android Pay application, where the payment is made.

Google is responsible for the safety and security of all data. All data is encrypted and stored on their servers. In case of loss / theft of your smartphone, all data on payment cards can be deleted remotely.

Android Pay is a great youth service that saves its users' time. Connect.
