Many people receive messages on their phones that they do not need at all. Messages like this - discounts, taxis, computer repairs - can be annoying as well as distracting. It is very difficult to completely get rid of SMS spam, but it is quite possible to reduce its flow.
Often, when issuing a discount card in a store, we indicate our phone number, not paying attention to the fact that thereby we allow the company to send SMS messages about promotions, discounts, etc. Respecting stores or companies allow you to unsubscribe from the mailing voluntarily. Somewhere you will need to go to the site and indicate that you no longer want to receive SMS messages, somewhere you will need to send a refusal in the form of SMS, somewhere it is enough to write an email with a request to exclude the mobile number from the mailing list. For each company, the conditions may be different - more information can be found on the company's website or from the employees of the company in which you received the card.
Mobile operators can also help get rid of annoying SMS ads.
If you are an MTS subscriber, then forward the received spam SMS to the free number 1911 or write to [email protected] indicating the phone number from which you received this message. MTS promises to take action against fraudsters. Or you can activate the "Black List" service to block unwanted messages and calls (the service is paid - the daily fee is 1.5 rubles).
To prevent mailings, TELE2 offers to contact the 611 information service or leave a message in the "Complain" section. Just like MTS, TELE2 has a paid service "Black List" (for more details: https://spb.tele2.ru / services_black_list).
Clients of the operator "Megafon" can send a suspicious message to the free number 1911, and thus complain about spam. You can also write a complaint about SMS spam by filling out the form on the specialized portal www.stopfraud.megafon.ru/feedback/ or by calling the Megafon complaint service at 0500.
Beeline subscribers can receive short messages from the operator itself. This is the "Chameleon" service and it can annoy you no less than SMS spam. To turn it off, you need to dial the command * 110 * 20 # and make a call. Also, being a Beeline subscriber, you can send an SMS-complaint about spam to number 007, indicating the number from which you received the spam message or SMS-mailing, the text of the message, the date and time of receipt. Or you can call the Beeline complaint service at 0611.
If possible, install an application on your phone that allows you to block messages from numbers on the black list. For example, the Blacklist application https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.baole.app.blacklist&hl=ru for smartphones with the Android operating system.
If you wish, you can punish the spam company. To do this, you can file a complaint with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (https://fas.gov.ru/citizens/feedback/) or Roskomnadzor (https://rkn.gov.ru/treatments/ask-question/).
Keep in mind that when filing a complaint with the FAS or Roskomnadzor, you will have to provide personal information about yourself and detailed information about the spam message (name, sender number, text, date, time of receipt). And if the case goes to court, then mobile operators and spam organizations / shops / firms will prove that you have given consent to receive the mailing, so make sure that you did not really give such consent.
If you do not want to write a complaint, you can try to fight spammers through the smsnenado.ru portal. You just need to fill out the form, indicating the details of the spam message, and confirm your phone number. Administrators will send an unsubscribe request to the SMS spam distributor. After contacting the distributor, the distributor will remove your number from the mailing list, which he informs the administrators of the SMSNeNado service, and you will receive a letter stating that you will no longer receive messages from this company or organization.
And of course, follow these simple rules in order to avoid receiving spam in SMS messages:
1. Do not list your phone number on suspicious sites.
2. When receiving discount cards in shops or clubs, do not indicate your phone number or note that you do not want to receive messages about various promotions and discounts.
3. Carefully read the contracts with mobile operators, which should specify the conditions for sending advertising messages to your number.
And of course, never follow the links indicated in a suspicious message from an unfamiliar number, and do not reply to such messages.
