Dialing a code for various cities in Ukraine involves knowing many subtleties. Firstly, the dialing rules were changed in 2009, and secondly, the code may change depending on the number of digits in your subscriber's phone number.

Instructions
Step 1
The general rule for calls within Ukraine assumes the following sequence of actions. Lift the handset, make sure you hear a continuous beep. Then dial the long distance dialing code. Then dial the code, and then the subscriber's code. After dialing the output index, another continuous beep should follow.
Step 2
The city code can be easily found on the corresponding sites that provide complete lists of cities in Ukraine. For example, use this site
Step 3
Further, it is necessary to take into account that there are seven-digit, six-digit and five-digit numbers in Ukraine. Therefore, it is sometimes necessary to add additional numbers to the city code. The logic is as follows: if your subscriber's number is a five-digit number, then immediately after entering a three-digit or four-digit area code, add "22". If the number is six-digit, then press "2". If the phone consists of seven digits, then do not dial anything else, enter the subscriber's number immediately after the area code. For example, if you call to Odessa, and the subscriber has a six-digit number, then you dial 482 (Odessa code) and then "2".
Step 4
If you are making a call within the same region of Ukraine, then you do not need to fully dial the area code. Dial two, and then only the last two digits of the code. That is, instead of "0482", where "0" is the exit code and "482" is the area code, just dial "282".
Step 5
If you call to Ukraine from another country, then the city code must be preceded by the international dialing code, then the Ukraine code - "38", and then the city code. Please note that if you are making a call to a mobile phone, then you do not need to dial the area code, instead the mobile operator code is used.
Step 6
Since 2009, the code of the Kiev region has changed, so dial the index, then "45", then two digits of the city code, and then the subscriber's number. That is, if earlier the area code within the region looked like this: 04494, today you need to dial 4594.
