MTS, like many other cellular operators, produces USB modems that work only with SIM cards of this operator. The cost per kit is significantly lower than that of conventional modems, so they sell out quickly, and the embedded software helps the service provider to keep the company's customers from switching to services of other operators. This problem is solved by flashing the modems.
Necessary
access to the Internet
Instructions
Step 1
Find the firmware for the e1550 model of the MTS modem. Please note that before replacing the software with this modem, you need to enter the unlock code, which will further provide you with access to the services of all telecom operators. Usually, a special program for selecting codes is used for this, it is called Huawei.rar. After it is generated, proceed to download and install the program for entering codes on the modem.
Step 2
Find the program Huawei_E1550_All_BandActivator_and_Unlocker_v2_0.rar on the Internet, which will give you access to enter codes on your modem. Also download the MobilePartnerRus.rar program. This is a standard program containing templates of mobile operators operating in Russia. The huawei_dashboard.rar utility will help you write your software to the modem memory.
Step 3
Start flashing the device after making sure that the utilities you downloaded are in working order. Enter the unlock code in the appropriate utility, having previously generated it in Huawei.rar; also if this utility does not fit your device model, use the v4mpire_unlocker.rar program.
Step 4
After you have completed all the necessary steps, launch the MobilePartnerRus and huawei_dashboard programs. Write your software to the modem using the operator templates.
Step 5
Contact the technical support service of the mobile operator whose services you intend to use in the future. Check with him the necessary parameters to create a network connection, add it to the list of existing ones, specifying the necessary logins and passwords to access the Internet. Restart your computer and make a test connection with another SIM card.
