In June 2012, a new tablet computer developed by Google was presented at an exhibition dedicated to computer technology. This device is manufactured by Asus, as evidenced by the corresponding inscription on the back of the case.
At first glance, the Nexus 7 tablet might appear to be perfect. Its price is only $ 199. At the same time, the tablet has a display with a diagonal of 7 inches, and the thickness of the device is only 10.5 mm. Despite the fact that the Nexus 7 is not the thinnest 7-inch tablet PC, it only weighs 340 grams.
The tablet computer even looks different from its counterparts. The back of the case is made of soft plastic. It seems that the body is sheathed with leather. Unfortunately, like most 7-inch tablets, there is no rear camera.
The Nvidia Tegra 3 chip was chosen as the central processor. This CPU has four cores. The nominal clock speed of each of them is equal to 1.2 GHz. It is still unclear why this device needs such a powerful processor with a built-in video chip.
Firstly, the tablet lacks an interface that allows you to connect external displays. Those. video simply cannot be displayed on the big screen. Secondly, the matrix of its own display supports a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, but its display is too small for showing full-fledged presentations or watching movies.
The Google Nexus 7 tablet computer has a micro-USB port. Unfortunately, even the current version of Android OS - Jelly Bean does not support the ability to use this port as an MHL interface. Moreover, the tablet does not support USB On-The-Go technology. This means that you cannot connect external storage devices to it.
This is a significant drawback, because the tablet's own memory is only 8 (16) GB. It also lacks the ability to connect microSD memory cards and other formats.
Despite all these shortcomings, the Google Nexus 7 is an excellent smartphone for personal use. The device works flawlessly, quickly responds to commands and can continuously play a video clip for 10 hours.
