Game addicts all over the world rejoice: on May 21, 2013 Microsoft officially announced its next generation Xbox console. The gadget, which bears the name Xbox One, was presented at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond.
The exact cost of the Xbox One and the date of the console's release on sale were not disclosed. It is only known that the set-top box will go on sale before the end of 2013. The Xbox One will come bundled with a Kinect controller. The set-top box will support cloud services. Thanks to the improved version of the controller, the console will understand gestures and voice commands, and will also be able to switch between movies, games, and Internet access in an instant.
At the announcement of the set-top box, its technical filling was also revealed. The gadget will have a processor with eight cores and eight gigabytes of RAM. The hard disk size will be 500 gigabytes. As the manufacturer of the Xbox One promises, the console will work almost silently, which will be incredibly happy for those who like to play at night.
The first games for the new console were also presented at the presentation. These include Call of Duty: Ghosts, Forza Motorsport 5, four sports games from EA publishers and a new project by Remedy, which created Max Payne and Alan Wake, called Quantum Break.
The Xbox One prefix was presented eight years after the release of the previous generation console, the Xbox 360. During its existence, Microsoft has sold more than 77 million devices worldwide. By the way, the main competitor to the Xbox One, the PS4 console from Sony, was announced back in February 2013. It is assumed that its technical component will become known at the E3 exhibition, which will be held in June 2013.
