Step 1
Do not completely discharge the batteries. They do not tolerate it well and may fail. It is recommended to maintain a charge level of at least 75% of full charge.

Lithium-ion batteries are charged on a constant current / constant voltage basis. Unlike conventional batteries, lithium-ion batteries require a higher voltage per cell (about 3.6V). If, for example, lead-acid batteries can slowly recharge after a full charge, then lithium-ion batteries are deprived of this ability.

Make sure the battery charging conditions are met. Lithium-ion batteries can operate at temperatures from 0 to + 60 ° C. In negative temperatures, their battery stops charging.

A distinctive feature of lithium-ion batteries is a very high sensitivity to increased voltage at the time of charging. There are times when batteries catch fire from this. To avoid such incidents, a special electronic board is built into modern lithium-ion batteries, which turns off the battery in case of overheating. Another way to avoid overheating your battery is to use smart chargers. Most modern chargers can determine when the battery is fully charged and turn off the current on its own.
Step 5
Connect the battery to the charger, and it, in turn, connect to the mains. Some chargers allow you to select the maximum current. For example, low-power batteries can be charged with 500 mA, while more powerful batteries can be charged with 1000 mA. This allows for shorter charging times.
Step 6
When charging is complete, disconnect the batteries from the charger. If the battery will not be used for a long time, it is better to charge it by 60-70 percent.
