A multimedia projector is useless without a surface to project onto. As such, you can use a factory-made screen, a homemade design, and even just a plain wall.

Step 1
Use a wall (always painted in a light tone and not having any pattern) as a screen for a multimedia projector only if there are no increased requirements for the quality of color reproduction. The tint of the wall color can give the projected image an appropriate coloration - it can become slightly yellowish, greenish, etc. And if you like watching movies and TV while lying down, the ceiling is also a good screen.
Step 2
A homemade screen is convenient when using a projector at home - in almost all apartments, the walls are covered with patterned wallpaper and therefore are unsuitable for use as screens. You will need a sheet of plywood of the desired size, and the aspect ratio should be 4: 3. Paint it with white water-based paint or cover it with a cloth. Also, at home, you can use factory screens designed for overhead projectors - they are available for sale at online auctions.
Step 3
In an office or classroom, a professional screen is desirable. It is large in size and has the best lighting performance. Such screens are divided into uniformly scattering (white) and directional (silver). The latter, under the same conditions, provide higher brightness, but at the cost of a significantly smaller viewing angle.
Step 4
Screens for rear projection can be distinguished into a special class. Use them only if the projector supports it. However, if you wish, you can add such a function to any projector using a mirror. These screens are divided into two classes: matte and translucent. The latter differ in that they allow you to see the objects located behind them. They can be installed in shop windows - then passers-by will be able to watch what is happening behind the window against the background of advertising screensavers, as if hanging in the air.
