A webcam is a device for video communication on a computer via the Internet. For the device to function properly, it must be pre-configured. This can be done both using the Windows system settings and through specialized software.
Instructions
Step 1
When the camera is installed on a computer running Windows 7 or Windows 8, it is automatically identified in the system, i.e. installation of drivers. If the system successfully detects the model of your device, all the necessary drivers will be automatically installed and you do not need to download additional packages, and therefore you can immediately proceed to the procedure for adjusting the image.
Step 2
If the camera is not detected in the system, you will need to additionally install device drivers. Insert the software disc that came with the camera into the computer's drive and wait for it to be detected. Then unplug and re-enable the new device. The system will automatically find the correct drivers and install the necessary files. After that, you can restart your computer to apply the changes.
Step 3
Most Internet video users often use Skype, which is a reliable means of making video calls. To configure the webcam in this application, use the "Tools" - "Settings" menu item in the program window. Go to the Video Settings section, where you will see a sample of the live image from the camera. Check the box next to the required items and click "Save" to apply the changes.
Step 4
If you are going to use the camera not only to make video calls, but also to take pictures or enable the broadcast in the browser, use the system settings. As a rule, an application for managing device settings is installed along with the camera driver. Run this program through the "Start" menu or using the shortcut on the desktop and select the settings section. Adjust the brightness and clarity of the image, as well as other parameters presented in the program window. Then save all the changes you made. The configuration of the camera in the system is completed.
Step 5
Camera control applications may be named after your device manufacturer. If you cannot find a program for managing driver settings, manually install this utility using the installer from the disk or downloading the necessary application from the official website of the device manufacturer.
