In case of problems with the performance of the laptop, it is not necessary to immediately reinstall Windows from external media, search and install drivers and necessary programs. Experienced users are more likely to do exactly what they do all these procedures "manually", while inexperienced ones carry a laptop to a specialist. However, manufacturers, as a rule, provide a partition on the Recovery hard disk that contains an image of the operating system with all factory settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Restoring a laptop to the state it was purchased starts with pressing hotkeys that start the process. For Toshiba laptops, this is F8, F11 or 0 on the latest models, which must be pressed during the computer boot process before Windows starts loading.
Step 2
On the screen that appears after pressing one of these keys, select "Troubleshoot computer problems" and press the Enter key.
Step 3
Select your language and enter the username and password you would normally use when logging in in the next two windows.
Step 4
The next window will prompt you to select the system recovery options. In this case, you should choose Toshiba HDD Recovery, which implies a complete restoration of Windows to its original state.
Step 5
A warning will appear stating that the main partition of the disk (on which the operating system was originally installed) will be restored to its original state, all data from it will be deleted. To protect your data from loss, you need to periodically move it to another location, this can be another disk partition or external media.
Step 6
The next window will display a summary of the upcoming recovery. Go to the next window by clicking the "Next" button, the last warning of the program about the running process and its irreversibility will appear. The program will also warn you that it is impossible to interrupt this process without consequences, so it is better to connect the power cable to the laptop.
Step 7
After permission to start the system recovery process, a new window will display the process of rolling back to factory settings, the process of installing software and drivers.
Step 8
After that, all that remains is to customize the operating system for yourself: select the country, keyboard layout, username and password, time zone. Alternatively, you can register your laptop online to extend the warranty.
