Transcend Corporation has pleased its fans with the new physical drive MTS800 M.2, which is designed to optionally expand the internal memory of tablets, subnotebooks and modern Chromebooks.
Based on the name, the new product is made in the M.2 format, which means that the device contains a small board equipped with flash memory chips, but in terms of volume, the drive is able to compete with the most advanced counterparts that now prevail on the market.
On a miniature board 80x22x4 mm in size and weighing about 10 grams. can accommodate 1 terabyte of digital information. This drive simply surprises with its functionality and technologies, since it contains both the latest SATA port and MLC memory chipsets, which are the most reliable and widespread. That is, it lacks TLC and SLC interfaces.
The speed of data transmission / reception is comparable to the speed of full-size hard drives for stationary PCs - 560 MB / s (read) and 460 MB / s (write), respectively. The drive is configured according to modern technologies TRIM, NCQ, which means that the device is optimized for long-term operation in active mode.
Intel's SmartResponse system allows it to be used as a cache for traditional hard drives. The MTS800 M.2 is produced in several modifications, differing in price and memory capacity.
