Some Android tablet models can connect to the Internet via a USB modem. Very often, due to the lack of drivers and ignorance of the settings, users cannot connect a 3g modem to the tablet.
Instructions
Step 1
If, when you start the program for the modem and connect it to the tablet, the Internet does not work, do not worry. The fact is that the tablet can recognize a USB modem not only as a device for connecting to the Internet, but also as a flash drive. To fix the problem, put the modem in "modem only" mode using the Hyper Terminal program.
Step 2
Install the USB modem into the appropriate connector on your computer. Copy all the files that were saved in the modem memory to your hard disk.
Step 3
Download and install the required utility on your Windows computer. Turn off the internet and network on your computer.
Step 4
In the Start panel, under Accessories> Communications, find the Hyper Terminal shortcut and launch it.
Step 5
The "Connection Description" window will appear on the computer screen, enter any name, press Enter and wait for the connection window to appear. In it, select the desired modem and confirm the selection. You do not need to enter the rest of the parameters, you can simply cancel the further connection.
Step 6
Next, open the properties in the program panel and the modem parameters, click on the "ASCII parameters" button. Select the checkbox to display the entered characters on the screen. Close all windows by clicking Ok.
Step 7
When all windows are closed, the cursor will blink in the main window of the program. Check the box next to the top of the box "Display the entered characters on the screen." Enter the command AT ^ U2DIAG = 0. This means that the modem will only work in this mode when the Internet is connected to the tablet. Press Enter and close the program after the settings are saved successfully.
Step 8
Remove the 3G modem from the computer, connect it to the tablet. Go to "Settings> Wireless networks> Access points (APN)" and enter the settings offered by the operator.
Step 9
Restart your tablet. If a 3g icon appears next to the battery icon, then you have correctly connected the modem to the tablet.
