The first thing new tablet owners do is connect it to their laptop to record music, movies or TV shows. There are two ways to connect your tablet: using USB or Wi-Fi.
Before connecting a tablet to a laptop, you must first enable one item in the settings of the tablet itself. To do this, go to the "Settings" of the device, find the line "For Developers" and check the box next to the sub-item "Debugging via USB". This will enable the mode so that the tablet is used as an external drive (for example, to copy files from laptop to tablet or vice versa). Then you can connect the device to your laptop.
USB connection
So, to connect a device via USB, you need to connect the cable to the corresponding USB connectors on your tablet and laptop. After that, a message will appear on the laptop that a new device has been detected, and you will be prompted to find and install a driver for it. But all actions should be performed only on the tablet, so you need to click the "Cancel" button.
Then, on the tablet in the lower right part of the screen, you need to click on the USB connection icon and select the "USB connection established" item. In the new window, you need to select "Enable USB storage". The device will give a warning that some applications may terminate their work, after that you need to click "OK".
Now the tablet's memory, including external memory, will be available as an external storage device. From now on, you can perform any actions with files and folders on the tablet - delete them, copy, edit, etc.
To disconnect the tablet, you need to click on the USB icon in the bottom corner again and select "Disconnect USB storage". Then, on the laptop, select the "Safely remove devices and disks" item (in the tray) and disable this device. Windows will tell you that the hardware can be removed, then you can disconnect the cable from the tablet.
Wi-Fi connection
The way to connect a tablet to a laptop via Wi-Fi is more complicated than using a USB cable. To connect a tablet to a laptop, you need to download a special application, for example, WiFi Transfer. And for a laptop, you need any FTP client, for example, Total Commander.
So, first you need to launch the app on your tablet. In the window that appears, the FTP address and WLAN Status will be indicated - this information will need to be entered on the laptop.
Then you need to open Total Commander on the laptop, select the "Network" - "Connect to FTP server" items through the menu bar. In the new window, you must click the "Add" button. Then in the "Connection name" field you need to enter an arbitrary name of the network, and in the "Server [port]" line - the FTP address that was specified on the tablet. After clicking "OK" in the window that appears, in the "Username" field you need to enter the WLAN Status value, which was also indicated on the tablet. The password is optional. After a certain time, the laptop will connect to the tablet - and the entire contents of the tablet will be displayed in Total Commander.
