The home PC is versatile and can be customized for a variety of tasks. With a microphone available, the range of possibilities can be tripled, but first this microphone must be properly connected and the volume adjusted.
Instructions
Step 1
For sound recording, the microphone may not be louder. If you suffer from the fact that when recording acapellas for songs, the soundtrack is extremely quiet, then this is quite normal. Use Adobe Audition 3.0 and later for recording and editing - it allows you to increase the volume almost indefinitely without significant loss of quality. Ideal for aspiring musicians.
Step 2
Buy an amplifier. If you have purchased a rather expensive microphone, but the soundtrack is still quiet, then you need a high-quality amplifier to process the sound before transferring it to the sound card (preferably not built-in). In fact, it looks like a small box with a volume control to which a microphone is attached.
Step 3
Use the built-in amplifier. It works in much the same way as sound amplification in Adobe Audition, but it is built into the system, and it is better to use it not for sound recording, but only for communication over the Internet. You can find the amplifier as follows: Control Panel -> Sound -> Controlling Sound Devices -> Recording -> Microphone -> Properties -> Special -> Microphone Gain.
Step 4
Try a different audio program. For example, if you play Splinter Cell and use voice communication, the volume will not depend on the microphone at all, but on the proximity of your partner. In other projects, this may not be related to the gameplay, but simply to the sound quality in the program itself, so try to use an analogue - there the sound may even out. The most famous voice communication program in the world - Skype - can serve as a great alternative to any chat.
Step 5
Disassemble the microphone. If you need a device solely for communication, and there is no way to purchase another, then try to remove all unnecessary things. Removing all the "fur traps" and plastic housings, you will deprive the microphone of any aesthetic appearance and worsen the sound quality, but the volume will increase significantly. The method, of course, is radical, although it is quite effective.
