The antenna amplifier is powered not through a separate wire, but directly through the same coaxial cable through which the amplified signal enters the TV. In this regard, the connection of such an amplifier to an antenna and a TV has a number of features.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a close look at the amplifier board. It has two wide pads for connecting to the antenna. Holes for fastening screws are drilled through these pads. There is also a clamp on the board for clamping the central core of the coaxial cable. The amplifier output to this terminal is connected through a capacitor that passes only AC current, and the power bus is connected through a choke that passes only DC current. Nearby is a bracket for clamping the cable sheath.

Step 2

Strip the coaxial cable so that the insulation of the center conductor is approximately 3 to 5 mm longer than the stripped braid, and the center conductor itself is approximately equal to the length of the insulation. Loosen the screws on the terminal and bracket. Pass the cable under the bracket so that the braid is under the bracket and the center conductor is under the terminal, and there is no short circuit between them. Tighten the terminal screws and brackets. Place the supplied cover on the amplifier.

Step 3

Locate two screws on the antenna, the distance between which is equal to the distance between the holes on the amplifier board. Put the board on them, turning it with the printed conductors towards you. Place the washers over the screws, then the nuts. Tighten the latter, but not too tightly so as not to break the board.

Step 4

Use the supplied decoupler plug with the amplifier. Open it up. The cable from the power supply is already soldered into it. Sketch exactly how and in what polarity to re-solder it in case of accidental breakage. The power to the central core is fed through the choke, and the signal from it to the TV is fed through the capacitor. Connect the coaxial cable to the plug in the same way as to the amplifier.

Step 5

Disconnect the TV. Connect the plug to the antenna jack. Plug in the TV and the amplifier's power supply. Start watching TV.
