Step 1
To get a good shot, you need to take into account the illumination of your subject. Depending on this indicator, you will need to set the ISO (light sensitivity) of the camera. In sunny weather or when using good lighting, it is better to lower its value to 100 or 200. In gloomy weather or at dusk, it should be raised to 400, and in the evening, at night, at a concert, in a club - to 800 or higher. The higher the ISO, the more digital noise appears in the pictures. In addition, high ISO values in bright light will lead to the fact that the frame will be hopelessly spoiled. It is also important to remember that if you are using a flash, the sensitivity should also be reduced to 100-200.
Step 2
Now let's move on to setting up the bb, i.e. white balance. This setting helps the camera recognize and display colors correctly. After all, different types of lighting give completely different pictures. For example, a conventional incandescent light bulb makes all colors appear yellow. Setting the incandescent bb to balance the color temperature and make the colors more natural adds more blue and thereby neutralizes the yellow illumination of the lamp. Try to shoot with different bb settings outdoors in different weather, indoors with different lighting. Compare the results.
Step 3
In different situations, you need to properly use the capabilities of the diaphragm. This is essentially a hole in the lens. It can be opened and closed by controlling the flow of light. Accordingly, the more you open it, the brighter the photo is, and vice versa. In addition to transmitting light, the diaphragm performs another important function: it allows you to adjust the depth of field (depth of field). Opening the aperture blurs anything outside the focus area. A closed aperture, on the contrary, makes the entire image equally sharp.
Step 4
It is also important to be able to correctly set the exposure. It depends on it whether the frame will be clear or blurry, whether it will be static or dynamic. A fast shutter speed will freeze the frame. The faster the subject moves, the faster the shutter speed should be.
Step 5
In the evening, very little light hits the diaphragm and with a short shutter speed we will not get any results. Longer shutter speeds should be used for better detail. It is important to use a tripod or other solid base for the camera, since the camera will record even the slightest movements during the exposure time. On the other hand, shooting moving subjects at long shutter speeds can also produce very interesting results. For example, water shot with a short exposure looks sharp, sonorous, splashes are clearly visible. But if you shoot it, but with a long exposure, then the water in the picture will be fluid, smooth, like silk, the streams will look like silver threads.
