Some LG TVs are equipped with a USB connector. In expensive models, it serves to play graphic, music and video files. Younger models use USB as a service connector to update the firmware, as evidenced by the inscription "SERVICE ONLY". This is not a problem, as it will not be difficult to unlock it.

Instructions
Step 1
The first thing you need is to transfer your TV to the service menu. In older models with firmware version 3.15 or later, this is quite simple. Bring the remote control to the infrared signal receiver located on the front of the TV, press and hold the "OK" buttons for a few seconds, both on the remote control and on the device itself. A window with cells for entering a password should appear on the screen. Enter the password four zeros.
Step 2
On TVs with firmware higher than 3.15, there are several ways to call the service menu: software and hardware. Using the programmatic method, you need to download the firmware 3.15 for the model you need and install it. For the hardware method, solder the infrared LEDs in parallel.
Step 3
Connect them to a sound source, preferably a speaker amplifier. Download a sound file, you can find it on specialized resources. Bring the LEDs to the infrared receiver and play the resulting file. Adjust the volume to achieve the desired blinking frequency of the LEDs.
Step 4
If you have a smartphone based on Symbian OS or Windows Mobile with an infrared port on board, install irRemote for Symbian OS and NoviiRemote for Windows Mobile. With its help, you can also go to the service menu of your TV.
Step 5
In the menu that opens, select the Tool Option3 item. Change the setting of the EMF item from zero to one, now the TV will be able to play music and photos. Change Divx to HD to play video. Leave the rest of the items unchanged. Save the settings and turn off the TV. After switching on, an additional shortcut with an image of the USB port will appear in the menu.
