Today the world is replete with various technological innovations that make life easier for a person in every possible way. One of these is GPS navigation, which can be installed not only on special navigators, but also on communicators, phones, laptops and other portable devices. Garmin maps are used for orientation on the terrain.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the Garmin map that you want to install on your portable device to your personal computer. The unlicensed version will be blocked by the navigation software, so you need to unlock it before using it.
Step 2
Search the Internet for GarminUnlockerAlternative software. The download source must be verified and popular enough among users to avoid possible malware infection on your computer. For example, you can use this link here:
Step 3
Unzip the downloaded file to the desktop of your personal computer. Run the file “unlock map directory.exe”, which will get the new directories for the application. The command line window will appear twice, in which you must press any key. Do not do anything on the PC until the program finishes its work.
Step 4
Verify that there are two folders Map UnLocked and Map Locked on your desktop. Open the second folder and copy the card you want to unlock into it. Run the MapsetHeader.txt text document. Find the line with the inscription “Garmin City Navigator NT 2010.30”, which must be replaced with the name of your map. Open MapsetName.txt and change the country name. For example, write “Russia” instead of “Greece”.
Step 5
Run the “unlock map directory.exe” file again. After that, the unlocked Garmin map will appear in the Map UnLocked folder, which must be copied to the main folder with the navigation program. Start GPS navigation on your handheld device and check that the map is readable and displayed properly.
