Loudspeakers built into TVs are often of mediocre sound quality. You can improve it by connecting external speakers. They can be connected in two ways: through an amplifier or directly.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to use the first method, you will need TV maintenance skills and impeccable knowledge of safety precautions. Turn off the TV, open it (do not subject it to shock, so as not to break the kinescope or LCD matrix), and then, without touching the kinescope, high-voltage wire, as well as parts of the power supply, video amplifier, backlight power converter (in an LCD TV), line scan (and in a tube TV - and any other parts), unsolder the wires going to the loudspeaker, extend them with a long cable, and then bring them outside the TV so that they do not pass next to any high-voltage circuits. For a stereo TV, run the cables from both channels outside. Then close the body of the machine. If you are unsure of your abilities, entrust this operation to a qualified technician.
Step 2
Consider a speaker system with an impedance equal to or greater than the built-in TV speaker. Connect the cable you brought out to this speaker. If the impedance of one system is lower than that of the TV speaker, but you have two and their total impedance exceeds this figure, connect them in series. If the TV is stereo, connect a speaker instead of each of the built-in speakers.
Step 3
The second method does not require significant qualifications from the master, but it involves the use of an external amplifier and requires the TV to have a linear sound output. Remove the output signal from the RCA-connector Audio out (body - common wire, central contact - audio output), from the DIN-connector "Tape recorder" (the middle contact is common, and depending on the year of manufacture of the TV, the output can be either the extreme right either the leftmost contact) or from the SCART connector (pin 3 - output, 4 - common).
Step 4
Connect the signal to the input of the amplifier, where an RCA or DIN connector can be used. The connection method for these connectors is described above. The stereo amplifier has either two RCA connectors, or one DIN, in which one of the extreme contacts is used for the input of the right channel (which one depends on the year of its manufacture), and for the left one - the contact located between the contacts of the right channel and the common wire. If the TV is monaural and the amplifier is stereo, connect the amplifier's inputs (but not outputs!) Together.
Step 5
Turn on the TV and, if present, an amplifier. In the second case, first set the volume on the amplifier to minimum. Then adjust it to the desired level.
