Step 1
Install the camcorder software on your computer. Take an IEEE-1394 cable and connect it to the integrated Fire Wire connector on the motherboard installed on the PC or external and to the corresponding connector on it. This connector, due to the high data transfer rate (800 Mbps), allows you to save video from the camcorder in the.avi format on your computer.
Step 2
Connect the power to the camcorder. It is better to do this not through the battery, but after 220 V. After a few seconds, a message will appear in the Windows notification bar that a new DV device has been detected. Then the “Digital video device” window will appear on the screen. Click the "Cancel" button and close it. If no DV device is found, make sure the PC can identify the connected camcorder. To do this, enter the "Device Manager" menu, one by one performing the actions: right-click on "My Computer", in the menu that opens, select "Properties", then go to the "Hardware" tab.
Step 3
Click on the + sign in the Imaging Devices group and expand it. It should display the device corresponding to the type of video camera, usually this is its name. Close the Device Manager window. In the event that the camcorder is not displayed, check the connections of the IEEE 1394 connector, check the power supply of the camcorder, the IEEE 1394 controller may also not work, although this happens extremely rarely. You can determine this on the "Hardware Manager" tab, it must be detected and not have conflicts.

Connect your camcorder with a USB cable after installing its software on your PC. To do this, insert one end of it into the USB connector of your computer, and the other into the device. This port is used for taking photos or shooting videos in low resolution, since the data transfer rate is 4Mbps.
