If the house has two televisions and one TV signal source, then in addition to the cable, additional materials will be required to connect. This instruction will help you connect two TVs to one antenna using a special device - a signal splitter.
It is necessary
- RF coaxial cable
- Splitter
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase an RF coaxial cable. Given that the TVs are likely to be in different rooms, a cable longer than 10 meters would be required. Also buy a splitter (splitter). It is a gold plated device that has one coaxial port on one end and two (or three) on the other.
Step 2
Take the necessary precautions as installing antenna and cabling in your home can pose a health risk.
Step 3
Choose a place to install the antenna and install it. The higher it is placed, the better the reception will be.
Step 4
Connect antenna and splitter via RF coaxial cable. For the connection, use a single incoming port on one end of the splitter.
Step 5
Connect TVs using the outgoing ports on the other (free) end of the splitter.
Step 6
Secure the cables so as not to damage or step on them. Use electrical tape to secure the cables.
Step 7
Turn on your TVs to test the connection on each one. If one of the TVs has poor reception, make sure the cable is not damaged and is securely fastened.
Step 8
Buy a second splitter if there are more TVs than the available ports on the first splitter. Connect the two taps together by attaching a cable to one of the ports on the first and the only upstream port on the second. Splitters can reduce the strength of the transmitted signal. If you need to connect, for example, four TVs to one antenna, you will need distribution amplifiers to improve the picture quality.
