There are several ways to install the Windows Mobile operating system on your phone, allowing you to complete this procedure either on the device itself or through your desktop computer.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install the dedicated Active Sync application (for Windows XP versions) or Mobile Device Center (for Windows Vista and 7 versions) on your computer. The application is freely distributed on the Internet and can be downloaded from the official website of Microsoft Corporation.
Step 2
Use CAB files to install Windows Mobile on the phone itself. To do this, simply transfer the archive to the phone using any convenient method - using the file manager program or by connecting the device to a computer - and unpack it. Run the executable file of the program and specify the save location. Find the shortcut of the installed program in the Start menu. Please note that the installation file will be removed automatically. If you need to save this file, you must change its parameters to "read-only".
Step 3
Download the installation files of the latest version of Windows Mobile OS to your computer from the official website of Microsoft Corporation and save them in any convenient place for installation via a PC. Connect your phone to your computer and make sure you have backed up your personal data on your phone. Run the executable file with the.exe extension and confirm your agreement with the installation conditions in the system request window that opens. Follow the recommendations of the wizard and wait for the installation to complete. The process is almost completely automated and does not require user intervention.
Step 4
Push to install Windows Phone Mango on your phone (if you have Windows Mobile already installed). To do this, connect your phone to your computer and launch the Zune app. Open the main menu of the device and go to the "Settings" item. Select the Update command and install the proposed update.
Step 5
Specify any other menu item and click the Update button again. Immediately afterwards, disconnect your internet connection and wait for the Zune app to display an update available. Reestablish your internet connection and continue with the installation process. Wait for the update availability message again and install it. The Zune app will automatically install Mango.
