The ICQ instant messaging protocol, in addition to text, allows you to transfer files from device to device. This transfer can be carried out both directly and indirectly, through special servers. Alternative ICQ clients have wide functions for transferring files from computer to phone.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch an alternative ICQ client - QIP Infinum and open its settings. In the settings dialog box, go to the General tab and check the box next to the Enable file transfer option. Below, in the file transfer options, select "Direct". After that, open the correspondence window with the required contact and click the "Send file" button, which is located between the text entry field and the correspondence field. In the file manager window, select the desired photo, open it. After that, the text "Sending file …" and the "Cancel" button will appear in the correspondence field. In this case, the addressee will have to press the "Accept" button to establish the connection and transfer the file. The disadvantage of this method is that it is not supported by some phone models, as well as the fact that the recipient must be on the network when transferring the file.
Step 2
Open the QIP Infinum window and in the file transfer parameters check the box next to the "File transfer via web server" line. Then open the correspondence with the contact to whom you want to send the photo, and click on the "Send file" button. Select and open the desired photo in the same way as described above. After that, the selected photo will be uploaded to the server, and the recipient will receive a temporary link to download it in a message. The download is performed using the built-in telephone browser. The main advantage of this method is that the recipient can be offline to transfer the photo, but the link to the photo will be valid for a limited time.
Step 3
Go to your browser and open the imageshack.us website. Upload an image to this service by clicking the Browse button and selecting the required photo in the file manager window. Then click the "Add" button. The next page that opens will contain the image, links to it, and codes for embedding it. To send a photo via ICQ, just send the desired contact a link to the uploaded photo. This method is the most reliable, since the link will always be valid, and the recipient may be offline during transmission.
