There are many versions of the main software available for the popular Sony Playstation Portable game console. They are divided into 2 classes: official (branded) and custom (they are also modified). An important difference between the latest firmwares is the presence in them of the so-called VSH menu, which makes it easier to work with the console.

Step 1
To gain access to the VSH menu, the first step is to reflash the game console - that is, install the modified software on it. The thematic resources describe this process in detail, where you can also familiarize yourself with the options for custom firmware, find out the pros and cons of each and choose the PSP you need for your model. After installing the new software, you need to enable the ability to enter the VSH menu. To do this, you will have to completely turn off the device. It is best to remove and insert the battery back. Then you need to turn on the console, keeping the R button pressed (at the end on the right).
Step 2
The Recovery menu will appear, in which you need to go to the Configuration submenu and change the Use VshMenu item from Disabled to VSHMENU. Then select Back and Exit.
Step 3
Now from the main menu of the console you can always get to the VSH menu. To do this, you just need to press the Select key. Despite the fact that this menu is quite small, a lot depends on its correct setting. The main advantage of modified firmwares over official ones is that they allow you to run games from a memory card, instead of requiring a licensed UMD disc with the game in the drive. A few minutes spent on setting up your updated firmware will further contribute to a conflict-free and enjoyable PSP experience. The main item of the VSH menu is UMD ISO Mode - it is responsible for launching games from a memory card. Its value should be Sony NP9660 or M-33 Driver, then there will be no problems.
