The industry mainly produces wireless remote control systems. If the remote control is lost and it is impossible to purchase a new one, it can be replaced with a wired one. It is not only more reliable and contains fewer parts, but also eliminates the need to periodically replace the batteries in the remote control.
Instructions
Step 1
Count the number of buttons on the front of your TV or other device (such as a DVD player), excluding the power switch. Drill the same number of holes on the console body (any plastic box without large slots can be used for its quality). Fasten in these holes the same number of small-sized buttons (for example, KM1-1). Place stickers next to them with inscriptions explaining their purpose.
Step 2
De-energize the machine and all devices connected to it. Disconnect all cords from it. Open its case and sketch the layout of the keyboard matrix. Be careful not to accidentally touch the leads of charged capacitors or the power supply circuits of the CRT anode. In the remote, connect the buttons in the same way as in the original matrix.
Step 3
Count the number of conductors going from the keyboard matrix to the device board. Take a stranded cord of the desired length, the number of conductors in which is the same. Connect them to the same-name contacts of the keypad matrices of the remote control and the device with which it will work. Do not connect anything to the power switch! Route the cord so that it runs away from power circuits.
Step 4
In the cases of the remote control and the device, make small notches for the cord outlet. Cover and seal the remote control to prevent touching the button contacts (some TVs have control circuits not isolated from the network).
Step 5
Close the device, connect all other devices to it, and then apply power to all equipment. Make sure that now the device responds to pressing the buttons of the remote control in the same way as to pressing the same buttons on the front panel. Please note that some functions that are only available with an infrared remote control will no longer work. If the TV has undergone revision, it will not be possible to turn it on and off from the wired remote control - you will have to use a mechanical power switch.
