For some motorists, the car has become not only a means of transportation over any distance, but also a way of self-expression and self-realization. An example is a car audio competition, which measures the power of sound waves emitted by an audio system installed in a car. To participate in such competitions, the installation of a second additional subwoofer is required.

Necessary

  • - subwoofer;
  • - capacitor;
  • - amplifier;
  • - tools;
  • - wires.

Instructions

Step 1

Open the hood and remove the negative wire connector from the car battery to de-energize the on-board power supply system and avoid a short circuit.

Step 2

Remove the radio unit from the mounting compartment. To do this, remove all faceplates. Remove the radio using two special keys. If not, thin and stiff wire can be used.

Step 3

Select the scheme according to which you will connect the second subwoofer. To do this, familiarize yourself with the characteristics of an already standing sub, as well as with the data on the amplifier installed in your car.

Step 4

If the amplifier has a free channel, you can safely connect a subwoofer to it. Pay attention to the power of the installed model of the sub. In total, the power of both devices should not exceed the nominal power of the amplifier.

Step 5

If the installed amplifier is too weak or does not have a free channel, you need to buy a second one and connect it in parallel.

Step 6

Connect a second amplifier to the output on the back of the radio. Check if the connection is correct. Use only high quality audio wires. In this case, you can achieve high-quality sound from your audio system.

Step 7

Secure the housing of the second amplifier. Never connect one amplifier to another! It is also recommended to install an additional condenser.

Step 8

Connect the second subwoofer to the installed amplifier. Secure the sub body carefully. To do this, use special strips and felt pads. Make sure that hard parts of the subwoofer cabinet do not touch bare metal or plastic parts of your car's interior. Otherwise, when listening to music, there will be extraneous noise caused by vibration.

Step 9

Disguise all wiring under the sheathing. Install the radio tape recorder back and connect the block to the battery. Switch on the ignition and check the functionality of the entire audio system.
