Instructions
Step 1
Purchase an additional network cable with connectors at both ends. Find a special adapter that allows you to connect the network cables together. These devices cost very little, so think three times whether it is worth trying to extend the power cord yourself. Use it to connect two twisted pairs, thereby obtaining a single cable.
Step 2
The problem is that you may not have a suitable adapter at hand. In such a situation, you can independently connect two network cables. Take a knife or scalpel and strip the insulation from one end of the twisted pair. Be careful not to damage the internal wires when doing this.
Step 3
Better to clean 10-15 centimeters to make it easier to carry out further operations. Now carefully strip each individual wire. Be sure to leave some uninsulated space to avoid confusing the colors of the cables to be connected. Cut the inner wires so that their lengths differ by 1 to 2 centimeters. This is to prevent a high load from occurring at a specific location.
Step 4
Follow the same procedure with the other network cable to be connected. Naturally, the internal wires must be cut in inverse proportion to the lengths of the analogous cables of the first twisted pair. Twist the wires of the same color carefully in pairs. Insulate all connections with special tape.
Step 5
Now insulate the common strand. It is better not to spare the insulating tape, because a poor-quality connection of wires can negatively affect the operation of the network. Remember that it is best not to use such connections for a long time. Purchase a special connector and connect two network cables to it. Be sure to check the operability of the received twisted pair. Try it out first by using a direct connection between two computers.
