Cartridges such as Xerox 3117 or Xerox 3122 are used in small printers from the Xerox and Samsung brands. They do not differ in significant capacity and, under heavy loads, quickly end, so the question of refueling them is relevant.
Instructions
Step 1
To refill a Xerox 3117 or Xerox 3122 cartridge, divide it into two halves. To do this, place the cartridge on the table in the same way as it is installed in the printer, that is, with the photosensitive drum away from you. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two screws holding the top and bottom halves of the cartridge. They are located on top of it.
Step 2
Separate the two halves of the cartridge by sliding the top. Slide the top cover slightly down first, then away from you. To access the toner hopper cover, remove the right side of the cartridge by pulling it sideways. If the side piece fits too tightly in its seat, use a slotted screwdriver and gently pry it off.
Step 3
Use pliers to remove the toner box cover. To refill the cartridge, you will need approximately 60 grams of Xerox P8E or Samsung ML-1210 toner. Prepare toner for spilling. To do this, shake the container in which the toner is stored thoroughly. Use a funnel to add toner to the inside of the hopper. Close the cover. If it is damaged or loose when removing it, place a piece of sealing material under it. This will prevent toner from spilling out during operation.
Step 4
Remove the cleaning blade by unscrewing the two screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Wipe off any toner residue with a lint-free cloth. Perform the required cleaning. To do this, thoroughly shake the contents of the waste toner box into a basket. Remove the charging roller and wipe it clean with a cloth. Do the same with the metering blade.
Step 5
Reinstall the cleaning and metering blades. Insert the charging shaft into the mountings after applying a small amount of conductive grease to them. Replace the side of the cartridge and connect the two halves together. Screw back the fixing screws.
