Sometimes a new printer or MFP, which has been in operation for less than a year, begins to chew on the paper. Before bringing it in for repair, there are three ways to get it back in service. Don't forget to unplug your printer!
Instructions
Step 1
Open the compartment where the cartridges are located and wipe the stretched magnetic stripe (similar to a strip from cassettes for a tape recorder) with cotton swabs moistened with glass cleaner. Also wipe and clean the paper feed rollers themselves.
But, if this technique did not help, it means that the pollution is much deeper: dust and dirt clogged inside, or the rollers clogged from ink, or the diaper is full.
Then try the second method.
Step 2
Remove the rear compartment by pushing in the direction of the arrow.
Step 3
Wipe the rollers that pull the paper from behind with a cotton swab dipped in glass cleaner (or alcohol). Often staples, dust, and hair get under the rear compartment, causing the printer to jam. Shake all this out through the back panel and clean. Usually this method helps a lot, but if the printer still chews on paper, then try the third method, which involves cleaning the ink from the pampers.
Step 4
To do this, you need to disassemble the printer and a T-10 hex screwdriver with a 7 cm nozzle length will come in handy - therefore a screwdriver with a set of interchangeable tips will not work - too short!
Step 5
Remove the cover, pry the control panel with a nail file and remove it.
Step 6
Unscrew the bolts in the indicated locations.
Step 7
Remove the panel with glass and disconnect the ribbon cable from the carriage on one side.
Step 8
Turn the carriage over and disconnect the second ribbon cable from the other side of the carriage.
Step 9
Take out the diaper, rinse it off the ink under water, dry it and put it back.
Step 10
Then turn the printer (MFP) upside down, unscrew the small cover with the same hex screwdriver.
Step 11
Take out a small diaper from there, rinse, dry and put back.
