Modern plasma TVs can be used instead of computer monitors. To do this, you need to correctly connect the TV to your computer and configure the operating parameters of both devices.

Instructions

Step 1

Select a pair of connectors through which you will connect the computer to the TV. Typically, PC video cards have DVI, VGA and S-Video ports. Less common are HDMI ports. Naturally, for the best picture quality, it is better to use digital channels (DVI or HDMI). Find the correct port on your TV and purchase the correct cable. Purchase an additional adapter if necessary.

Step 2

Connect the computer's graphics card to the plasma television. This process can be carried out even with the devices turned on. It is best not to turn off the computer monitor yet. Now open the plasma TV settings menu. Find the item "Main signal source" in it and select the port that you connected to the computer.

Step 3

If you want to use a TV instead of a monitor, then simply disconnect the last device from the video card. This is done quite rarely, because most video cards allow synchronous operation with a monitor and a TV. Open the start menu and go to the control panel.

Step 4

Select the Appearance and Personalization menu. Now find in the "Display" menu item "Connect to external display" and open it. Click the Find button. Wait for the second screen to be defined. Now click on the graphic image of the monitor or TV and select "Make this display the primary". All applications will now initially run on the specified device.

Step 5

Find and activate the Extend This Screen option. All shortcuts and toolbar will disappear on the second display. If you want to launch any application on the secondary display, then simply move it outside the main screen. In the "Connect to external display" menu, you can adjust the position of the monitor and TV relative to each other.
