Step 1
Choose a diagonal. If you buy a TV in the kitchen or other small room, then 15-17 inches will be enough. If you buy a TV with a diagonal of 20-21 inches, then it can be used as the main one, installed in one of the living rooms. 29-32 inch TVs can be conventionally used as home theaters - the presence of several audio and video inputs allows you to connect several devices (DVD, satellite tuner, game console, etc.).

Pay attention to the sweep frequency. The standard frame rate for CRT TV is 50 Hz. But modern models can also have 100 Hz, which makes watching TV more convenient - the eyes are less tired. But if the image changes quickly, then you can observe the effect of "smearing". Therefore, take a closer look at the TV when changing scenes quickly and then make a decision. Also, make sure that the picture is stable, there is no interference and twitching.
Step 3
Please rate the aspect ratio based on your preference. If you plan to use your TV with DVD, then it is better to choose 16: 9 format - digital video content will be presented better. Small aspect ratios (4: 3) are convenient for watching regular TV programs.
Step 4
The more power the speakers have, the better the sound will be, even at lower volume levels. There are models of CRT TVs with built-in audio processors, which are necessary for home theaters, and also if you do not plan to purchase a separate speaker system. Turn on the sound at full power and make sure that the cabinet does not rattle, there are no extraneous rales and noises.
Step 5
Choose between flat and convex screens. The larger the diagonal, the more preferable a flat screen - there will be less distortion and glare. If you are looking for a budget model, then a TV with a convex screen and a small diagonal will do.
Step 6
Check out the extra features. This may be the presence of a channel scanning system, a picture-in-picture function, etc. If you plan on watching TV shows rather than DVD movies, then it makes sense to pay extra for these features.
