A radiotelephone is a low-power wireless device, a kind of extension cord for a home telephone line. Mobile phones could not completely replace them in everyday life, so radiotelephones left their place in home comfort. But sooner or later, the performance of any device may deteriorate. The most common problems are with the keyboard. Is it possible to fix such a malfunction yourself?

Necessary

  • - screwdriver;
  • - eraser;
  • - a clean cloth.

Instructions

Step 1

Examine the phone and test its buttons by alternately pressing them. If some keys get stuck or the phone doesn’t respond, moisture or dust may have gotten inside the device. Sometimes, although rarely, the reason for the failure of the buttons is an insect crawling under the keypad. Start reanimating the buttons.

Step 2

Carefully open the handset housing of the telephone. To do this, in most devices, you need to unscrew the two screws located under the battery compartment cover (the battery must, of course, be disconnected before this).

Step 3

Separate the tube in two. One of them will have a flat keyboard with rubberized pads for pressing keys.

Step 4

Use a regular eraser to clean the key pads (found on the PCB). Remove deposits of grease, moisture and dust from the areas that have accumulated during the use of the phone. It is not recommended to use alcohol-containing solutions for cleaning, as they can corrode plastic and leave whitish streaks on the tube body.

Step 5

Then, using the same eraser, clean the rubberized contacts of the buttons themselves. They are located on a rubber insert with key numbers on the keyboard.

Step 6

Also clean all other parts of the tube from any visible dirt: printed circuit board, housing from the inside and outside. Wipe the inside of the housing openings that accommodate the phone keypad.

Step 7

Assemble the phone in reverse order, making sure that the parts are exactly in their grooves and slots during assembly. Tighten the fixing screws. Connect the battery. Turn on the device and check how much its performance has changed after the repair. You will notice that the keys are easier to press.

Step 8

Check and service your cordless telephone periodically, but at least once a year. Then the device will serve you for a long time, becoming obsolete only morally - due to the appearance of new and more modern models.
