Landline telephones with cordless handsets allow you to combine the advantages of a landline number with the ability to move around the premises. Similar to cell phones, the handsets of radiotelephones are equipped with numeric keypads for dialing numbers.
Instructions
Step 1
Landline telephones with cordless handsets allow you to combine the advantages of a landline number with the ability to move around the premises. Similar to cell phones, the handsets of radiotelephones are equipped with numeric keypads for dialing numbers.
Step 2
If you are accustomed to using a mobile phone more often than a landline phone, then when working with a wireless device, you do not need to change your habits. First, dial the number on the keyboard, and only then press the off-hook button (or the only middle key). After that, the sending of signals to the line (pulse or tone, depending on the settings) will be carried out automatically. Note that this method may not be possible to dial on a handset without a display.
Step 3
You can dial a number on a cordless phone and in the same way as on a wired one. To do this, first take the line by pressing the green (or the only middle) key. Only then press the numeric keys in the required order. Signals will be sent to the line as numbers are dialed (if you press them too quickly, the data will be buffered and sent on the line at a standard rate).
Step 4
The + (plus) sign cannot be dialed on a cordless telephone. Instead of +7, dial 8. In this case, make a call using the second method. Press the off hook button, press the 8 key, wait for the dial tone, and then dial the rest of the digits. The tariffication of the call will be the same as if it were made from a wired telephone connected to the same line.
Step 5
If you need to call a number that requires dialing part of the numbers in tone mode, also use the second method. After lifting the handset, dial the number itself in pulse mode (the handset must be configured accordingly) and then press the star key. Wait for the voice prompt and dial the extension number. This method does not work on some early Siemens Gigaset devices, for example, model 100.
Step 6
After finishing the conversation, press the red button (or again the only middle one). Some tubes should be permanently held in the inoperative position on the base, others should be placed on it only after the battery is almost completely discharged. Find out from the instructions which of these rules should be followed when using your device. If it is analog, it is better to return the handset to the base immediately after the conversation in any case, otherwise "doubles" can connect to it.
