Many modern Motorola phones are equipped with a Java virtual machine. This allows them to run J2ME games on them. You can download them directly from the Internet.
Instructions
Step 1
Configure the Access Point Name (APN) on your phone correctly. Call the operator's support and tell them that you need to receive a message with automatic settings for an access point for Internet access (not WAP, emphasize this) from your Motorola phone. Be sure to name the model of the device. After the message arrives, check what value the APN parameter has in it: the corresponding line should begin with the word "internet", not "wap". If so, activate the settings.
Step 2
Call the support service again and find out if the operator provides unlimited Internet access service in your region, and at what price. If the price suits you, ask to connect it. The consultant will dictate a command to you, and you hang up and dial it. Wait for the message that the service has been activated.
Step 3
If you are going to download paid games, find out how much the same game costs from different content providers. Choose the one whose services are cheaper. Often, some of them arrange sales of games for 25 or even 10 rubles (excluding the cost of traffic, if you do not have unlimited traffic).
Step 4
There is a way to get quality games without having to pay for them (again, excluding traffic costs). To do this, visit the GameJump website or similar. Games downloaded from it show advertisements before launch and after session ends. Please note that these ads are downloaded over the Internet, but the cost of traffic is so low that even in the absence of an unlimited tariff, it usually turns out to be more profitable than buying a game. In addition, there are regular free J2ME games created by hobbyist programmers. The plots of these games are usually straightforward.
Step 5
Even if the device has an Opera Mini or UCWEB browser, download games using the built-in browser. Rarely, on which Motorola phone, J2ME applets are provided with the ability to access the file system. Another subtlety related specifically to Motorola devices is to select a JAD file on the site, not a JAR file. After you download the JAD file, the phone, guided by the information stored in it, will automatically download the JAR file.
Step 6
If your phone is equipped with a memory card, select it as the storage location for the game. Later, using a card reader, try to find in which folder on the card the phone stores JAD and JAR files. Add other games to this folder if you wish. Remember that they must be designed for the appropriate screen resolution, and must be represented by two files, one of which is in the JAD format, the other in JAR. Remove and install the card with the device turned off.
