A document (.doc or.docx format) is often used. The advantages of the format are obvious. Since any information can be edited and features for ease of reading can be applied to it, which simply do not exist in a standard notepad. To work with files of this format, you need to install the Microsoft Office suite. Everything is read directly from the included "Word" application. Moreover, it should be noted that it is advisable to update the kit, since older versions cannot read some of the updated formats or generally cause errors in the system. Also, the undoubted advantage of the format is that it is very easy to transfer text from a notebook to a document. You just need to select all the text from the notebook and then "paste" into a new document.

There are other fairly common readers. For example, some files are laid out in pdf format. Viewing is carried out through the Acrobat Reader program. This format is a copy of a book / text as an image. Accordingly, quite often in this format there are rare "scans" of the text. And sometimes it is used for the convenience of reading from a computer. The program is exactly a "reader", in the sense that the text in it cannot be edited. To transfer files from standard text formats to pdf, you need to install the Universal Document Converter. This also applies to other formats (eg. Djvu).
