Instructions

Step 1

First, assess the condition of your remote control. There can be many reasons for the breakdown of the remote control, the most common of them are a fall, in which the case can crack and some elements break off, and dirt. The easiest way, of course, is to get a new remote control, because it is not that expensive. However, the problem is that not all TV models can be purchased with a remote control.

Step 2

The most common cause of button failure is the ingress of grease and other contaminants through the button holes. The inside of the remote control needs to be cleaned by removing the batteries and unscrewing the screws from the case (if any). If the case is not connected with screws, then simply pry the half of the case with a flat screwdriver and separate the two halves.

Step 3

Now take a close look at the remote control board. Look where there are grease and dirt spots, if there are crumbs and small debris, then shake it out. Also check the rubber buttons for contamination.

Step 4

Take a cotton swab and soak it in alcohol. Wipe all areas of the board where there is grease, and rub the rubber buttons with alcohol. It is better to do the procedure two times. After that, go over the details with a dry cotton swab.

Step 5

Treat the inside of the upper part of the console body in the same way, because a huge amount of dirt and grease also accumulates there.

Step 6

Assemble the remote. To do this, insert the upper half into place and fasten it with bolts, and if they are not there, then simply squeeze the two halves until a characteristic click.

Step 7

In the event that one or another button that you need is damaged on the remote control, then most likely you will have to replace it. To do this, cut out a button from the rubber part with scissors that is suitable in shape and size, but one that you do not use much or do not use at all. Cut out the non-working button too, substitute the second one in its place. Assemble the remote.

Step 8

Handle your remote with care, because one fine moment it can be damaged so that it can no longer be repaired. For example, many citizens like to sit down at the remote control and break the board in half. And by the way, before disassembling the remote, try replacing the batteries first.
