A headset is a device that connects to a mobile phone to keep your hands free when talking. It happens that they, like ordinary headphones, fail.
Instructions
Step 1
Connect a wired headset to your phone. Call the toll-free number of an answering machine belonging to the operator.
Step 2
Begin pinching and kinking the headset cable. Determine at what point the sound in the headphones disappears, or the microphone stops working (when it does not work, the echo of your own voice becomes inaudible). The section of the cable that is pinched or bent at this moment contains a short circuit or an open circuit.
Step 3
Disconnect the headset from the phone. Carefully cut the cable where it is broken. Remove the shell from it - there will be several conductors of different colors under it.
Step 4
Connect them together in pairs using a soldering iron, guided by their color. Isolate the places of rations from each other. After that, wrap the entire area with electrical tape.
Step 5
Quite often, a break occurs next to the plug. Not every plug can be opened without damaging it. A plug that is suitable as a replacement is also not always available. In this case, it is most convenient to use a piece of cable together with a plug taken from another faulty headset of the same type, in which the break is located in a different place. Thus, you will make one workable headset from two unworkable ones.
Step 6
If the break is near the plastic box containing the microphone and button, carefully open it. Wires of different colors are soldered in it to the board with contact pads. After slightly shortening the cable, re-solder its wires into the board so that their colors are located the same as before the repair.
Step 7
In case of a break, located next to the earpiece, the housing of the sound emitter can be easily opened, after which it is possible to re-solder. After completing the repair, secure the headphone cover with glue. Do not put on the earphone until now, until the glue is completely dry. This may take two days.
Step 8
There are no cables in the wireless headset that can break if used carelessly. Only the battery can fail in it. Replace it with one having similar parameters (electrochemical system, voltage, capacity). Sometimes soldering is required for this. Carry out it carefully with the charger disconnected, avoiding overheating, short circuits, polarity reversal. After completing the repair, reconcile the headset with the phone.
