Modern technology is controlled by remote controls. It is quite convenient, but in the process of using the consoles often fail. It is not always possible to find a suitable remote control on sale, and buying a universal one and setting up is not convenient for everyone. You can repair the remote control yourself.
Necessary
- - denatured alcohol;
- - screwdriver;
- - cotton swab or cotton swab;
- - eraser.
Instructions
Step 1
First, determine what kind of problem you are facing. If it is necessary to exert effort to control, or the remote control only switches from a close distance, most likely, it is just time to replace the batteries in it. Some batteries, if used infrequently, may leak and oxidize the contacts. In this case, it is necessary to clean off all plaque with a knife, and then wipe the contacts with denatured alcohol. The buttons will work as before.
Step 2
Sometimes the buttons start to stick or don't work at all. This is due to dirt that builds up under the casing during use. In this case, the remote control will need to be disassembled and cleaned. Most remotes are now fastened not with bolts, but with plastic latches, you need to be careful when opening the case of such a remote control. A board with a microcircuit, an emitting diode, contact pads of buttons and conductive tracks, as well as a rubber plate with buttons are hidden under the external panels. It happens that the buttons are attached separately, in this case it is better to take a picture of their location. The rubber plate and buttons can be washed with warm water and detergent and dried well with a hair dryer. It is best to clean the board with denatured alcohol and a toothbrush. The rubber patches on the buttons and the contacts on the board can be wiped off with a regular school eraser. In some cases, they must be treated with graphite paste or electrically conductive adhesive, which can be found commercially.
Step 3
Inspect the conductive tracks and contacts carefully. If the remote control is dropped, they can be damaged, in which case a soldering will be required. This is the most difficult procedure to repair buttons on a remote control.
Step 4
The emitting diode may fail, for this reason it will seem that the buttons do not work. You can diagnose such a breakdown if you look at the diode through a mobile phone camera by pressing any button on the remote control. A working diode will be highlighted in this case. If this does not happen, it is easy to find it in any store of radio components and replace it yourself, observing the polarity.
