The firewall protects the computer from outside influences, protects the user and his PC from unauthorized access to the system. Starting with Windows XP SP2, the firewall is built into the software system. However, the service messages that this program generates every now and then can interfere or even annoy someone. Fortunately, they can be turned off.
Instructions
Step 1
To do this, the firewall must be disabled. Call the "System Security Center" window. To do this, open the Start menu and then Control Panel. There, left-click on the icon with the appropriate name.

There are other ways that will help you call this menu. Go to the "Start" menu, select "Programs", then the category "Accessories". A submenu will open where you need to click on the "Service" item, and then left-click on the "Security Center" item in the next menu.

There is another option: go to the system drive (usually drive C), then to the Documents and settings -> All users -> "Main menu" -> "Programs" -> "Standard" -> "System" folders.

After opening the Security Center window, left-click on the "Windows Firewall" icon, after which a dialog box will open. You need to go to the tab called "General", then check the box in the checkbox opposite the line "Disable (not recommended)". To confirm the changes, click on the "Ok" button.

You don't have to turn off the firewall so that you are not bothered by constantly popping out service alerts. For example, the program constantly displays a message about outdated databases, which is why the PC is also at risk. Instead of turning off the firewall, you can simply turn on the database update, and then the program will not bother you with its notifications.
Step 6
Click on the "Automatic update" icon in the Security Center window, then check the box next to "Automatic (recommended)" in the dialog box that opens, and then click on "OK" to confirm the changes.

Keep in mind, however, that a firewall is primarily intended to protect your computer, not to annoy your nerves with service messages. If you have already decided to disable it, install (if you have not already done so) an anti-virus program or a firewall (firewall). And you can install both at once.
