It is known that any serious repair must begin from the foundation, namely, with the replacement of worn-out water pipes. And this must be done as efficiently as possible so that you do not have to return to this for at least 30-40 years. But in order to properly lay the pipes, you need to know how to carry out the wiring.
Instructions
Step 1
Make fewer joints and turns when laying pipes. The reliability of the operation of the entire system will depend on this, because each turn and joint is a potential leakage point in case of improper docking. In addition, they provide additional resistance to moving water.
Step 2
Choose pipes with the correct diameter. Its size depends on the water pressure in the system, the duration of the water supply and the number of turns and joints. There are several calculation formulas that take into account the decrease in water pressure, depending on many factors, by appropriate coefficients. But such formulas are rarely used in practice. Usually pipes with a diameter of 15 mm, sometimes 10 mm, are installed. 20 mm pipes, sometimes 25 mm, are placed on the riser. If you have a lot of joints and turns in your wiring, or you need to lay pipes for a long distance, and the water pressure is low, then carry out the routing with pipes with a large diameter (larger diameter - better pressure).
Step 3
Choose copper pipes for routing. This is the most environmentally friendly and reliable option, but also the most expensive. But you will not remember this problem for a long time. If you chose plastic, then you will need a special soldering iron for installation. Reinforced-plastic pipes are the best way out. The installation of such a system is extremely simple and is carried out on threaded connections.
Step 4
Install a shut-off valve on the branch pipe from each riser. This is done for the convenience of cleaning the filters or replacing the gasket in the mixer, so as not to descend into the basement and not block the entire riser. Also place a meter after each shut-off valve, and after that install a water filter.
Step 5
Install an additional shut-off valve when wiring to the toilet cistern, since it is the most often repaired. And in order not to block all the water, you can simply block its access to the tank.
