Nokia mobile phones run on J2ME, Symbian, and Windows Phone 7. Programs for them can be downloaded from developers' sites, as well as through virtual stores. Applications for Windows Phone 7 can be obtained only in the second way.
Instructions
Step 1
It is better to download applications from the device itself. To do this, connect the cheapest unlimited tariff for Internet access, and also correctly configure the access point (APN). Its name should start not with wap, but with internet. If you have a wireless router at home, and your phone has a WiFi module, you can connect it to your home network. Then the programs will download much faster.
Step 2
To download the program for the J2ME platform, refer to either the developer's site or the GetJar resource. Launch the built-in browser of the device, otherwise its model will be detected incorrectly or not at all. Select the program you want, make sure it's free, and then follow the link to the JAR file. Please note that a JAD file is not required for Nokia devices. If there is only a link to it, follow it, and redirection to the JAR file will happen automatically. After downloading the application will appear in the "Games" or "Applications" menu folder. Which one will be determined by the phone itself (sometimes it makes mistakes when placing programs in folders that do not correspond to their genre).
Step 3
Symbian-based smartphones can run both applications designed specifically for this OS and programs of the J2ME standard. But native apps are noticeably faster. On phones with Symbian version 9 and higher, they are installed only with a digital signature, but you can still download them from the developer's website. Better, however, to use a specialized site Symbian Freeware or the official Ovi store. Please note that not all programs are free on the second resource, and registration is required. After the built-in browser navigates to a link to a JAR, SIS or SISX file, the device will ask a number of questions, each of which must be answered positively. An exception is the request for the installation location of the application - select the memory card. Soon the item corresponding to the program will appear in the main menu or in its folder "Applications" or "My applications".
Step 4
Windows Phone 7 software can only be downloaded from the Windows Phone Marketplace. Free among them - about 60%. Get a Windows Live ID from your computer or phone (you can even use a computer with Linux installed). After going to the program page with the built-in browser of the phone, press the red button "Download free program". Enter the username and password you received earlier, and then proceed to download and install the application, following the prompts on the screen.
