Generally, remanufacturing of a dried Canon cartridge is trusted by professionals. The recovery procedure, although simple, is quite lengthy, and the responsibility for the result lies solely with the user. It should be borne in mind that only dried cartridges with a valid expiration date can be restored. There is no point in restoring damaged and old consumables.
Necessary
- - distilled water;
- - liquid for washing glasses;
- - flushing pump.
Instructions
Step 1
For the cold soak procedure, remove the cartridge from the printer. Pour 1 cm of glass cleaner into a separate container with a lid. Place the cartridge in a container with the detergent, close the lid and leave for 12 hours. If the cartridge has not been used for more than a month, additionally fill it with a solution of glass cleaner and distilled water in a ratio of 1: 1. In this case, carry out the cold soak procedure within 24 hours. At the end of the procedure, remove the cartridge and blot the print portion with a tissue. A clear, gaps-free print of the printing strip should remain on the napkin. Until the print is solid, continue the soaking procedure for up to 7 days.
Step 2
If soaking does not work, try evaporating the cartridge. To do this, boil the kettle and direct the steam from its spout onto the working surface of the cartridge. Check the restoration quality with a napkin every 5 seconds, as described above. If after a minute of this procedure, the cartridge does not recover, stop trying.
Step 3
For a professional cartridge recovery method, purchase a specialized pump washer. This method is the most effective, but also the most expensive due to the high cost of the wash set. The cartridge is filled with flushing liquid or a mixture of glass washing liquid with water (ratio 50:50). Then, using a pump, the mixture is sucked out through the nozzles of the cartridge. The procedure continues until the exiting mixture becomes completely transparent.
Step 4
After cleaning the Canon cartridge, insert it into the printer and clean it using a dedicated utility. This program is different for each printer model, but you can find it in the "Utilities" - "Cleaning the cartridge" section. This cleaning should be carried out several times at intervals of 60 minutes.
Step 5
After completing all procedures, refill the cartridge with quality ink. When choosing a recovery method, consider the type of cartridge. The cold soak method is well suited for vacuum-retaining ink cartridges. For a cartridge with an absorbent sponge, the evaporation method is well suited in combination with a rinse of the cartridge with a pump. Separate printhead cartridge first try cleaning several times using the printer driver. If not, remove the heads and soak them separately.
