We all know very well the basic functions of the left and right buttons of a computer mouse. However, in addition to simple clicks, there are also special, hidden functions of the mouse, which some do not even know about.
Instructions
Step 1
Quickly select most of the text.
One of the primitive functions of a computer mouse is text selection. To do this, they usually hold down the left button and move the cursor to the end of the desired section. But if the user needs to select a large area with scrolling down the page, then click at the beginning of the desired passage and then, holding down the Shift key on the keyboard, click again at the end of the required text.
Step 2
Highlight an entire paragraph quickly.
Double-clicking with the left mouse button selects the word that was double-clicked. With a triple click, you can select the entire paragraph. Naturally, this is much more convenient than dragging the selection with the cursor.
Step 3
Quickly select individual pieces of text.
It is not at all necessary to try to copy the entire text and then waste time removing unnecessary passages from it. You can click on the words you need or select individual sentences by holding down the Ctrl key, and then paste everything you need in one fell swoop.
Step 4
Go to the previous or next page in the browser.
Using the mouse wheel and holding down the Shift button, you can navigate back and forth through the browser pages.
Step 5
Zoom in or out in the browser.
If the site contains too small text, you can easily enlarge it using the wheel and holding down the Ctrl button.
Step 6
Open the link in a new browser tab.
In order to open a link in a new tab, a click with the mouse wheel is usually used. However, if it breaks, then you need to remember that left-clicking and holding down Ctrl lead to a similar result.
Step 7
Drag with the right mouse button.
Modern users are accustomed to dragging and dropping files using the Drag'n'Drop method (i.e. holding down the left mouse button). However, the same can be done by holding down the right button. The only difference is that in the latter case, a special context menu appears, offering to copy a document or create a shortcut.
