The Zello app is used for walkie talkie conversations. The program can work both on smartphones and on personal computers. Using Zello is quite simple - the application interface is intuitive.
Zello - walkie-talkie for smartphone and computer
Zello is an application that allows you to turn your smartphone into a real walkie-talkie. There are versions of Zello for smartphones based on Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry operating systems. There is also a version of the program designed for use on desktop computers running Windows.
Using the program
Zello is easy to use. When you start the program for the first time, you will be prompted to register on the service and provide your personal information (login, password, email address). To set up your microphone and check how Zello works, you can use the dedicated Echo robot - it will appear in your contact list by default.
Zello allows you to communicate with another subscriber both directly and using channels. The channel in Zello is a kind of analogue of the frequency in an ordinary walkie-talkie. You can create your own channels or subscribe to existing ones. Channels can be open (accessible to everyone) and closed (access to them is carried out with a password).
To talk to the person on the walkie-talkie, select the contact, and then press and hold the PTT button. You will hear a beep, after which you can start talking. When you're done with your message, release the button.
If another person from your contact list at the time you were sending the message also addressed you, the message sent to you will be automatically recorded in the background and will be played back as soon as you finish speaking.
To block a user, it is enough to remove him from the contact lists. If he makes a second request for authorization, in the menu that appears, click "Block".
In order to listen to the message history, you need to select a contact or channel and click on the "Recent" button.
To add a person to your contacts, just go to the "Actions / Add contact" menu. Then you need to specify the username or email address. After Zello finds a subscriber in its base, it remains to send an authorization request. The smartphone versions of Zello also support address book searches.
The Zello version for computers practically does not differ in functionality from the versions intended for smartphones. With only one exception - Zello is somewhat "crooked" for personal computers, its interface is not so convenient and slightly complicated.
