If the phone stops working and the warranty period has not expired, you have the right of your choice: return the device to the store and get the money back, change the faulty device from the seller for another, or agree to have it repaired at the service center. Otherwise, you have only one option - to give the phone to the workshop, but not for free. But before taking the phone to a service center, you should try to figure out the cause of the malfunction yourself and fix it.
Necessary
A set of screwdrivers, pliers, magnifier, tweezers, long needle, tester
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, to repair your phone, you will need special tools, at least a set of screwdrivers.
Step 2
Search the internet for the repair and maintenance manual for your phone model (service manual). From it you can learn how to disassemble and reassemble it. The manual will most likely be in English, but usually accompanied by photographs that illustrate the operations being carried out.
Step 3
Make an external examination of the phone for mechanical damage. Proceed further depending on the nature of the malfunction. Both a hardware malfunction and a malfunction associated with the software part of the phone are possible. Some of them can be eliminated simply by replacing the firmware with a newer one or reinstalling the existing software. When checking the phone, first of all, pay attention to the contacts (keyboard connector, loop, antenna).
Step 4
If the phone does not turn on. Take out the battery. Inspect its pins as well as the power connectors. Check battery voltage. Clean your contacts. If that doesn't work, insert another known good battery. Turn on your cell phone. If it works, then the reason was precisely in it.
Step 5
If the phone does not see the network, it writes "Search for a network". A possible reason is a SIM card malfunction. Insert another. If the device again does not see the network, then you may be in an area with no radio signal.
Step 6
The phone won't charge (there is no charging indicator on the screen). The device itself is working. First check that the charger is working properly. Measure the voltage at the charger output. It must match its characteristics. If the charger is OK, replace the battery.
Step 7
One of the most unreliable components of a phone is the flex cable (especially in clamshell phones). It can be replaced by yourself, without soldering (not in all models).
Step 8
If the phone has been in water, remove the battery. Disassemble the machine and dry it in a warm place for several hours. Then wipe the contacts with alcohol, after it dries, reassemble the device.
