Being able to perform simple mobile phone repairs is necessary not only for those for whom it is a profession. For the average home craftsman, the appropriate skills will help save not only money, but also time.

Instructions

Step 1

Assess your strengths soberly. Not every malfunction in the phone can be fixed by yourself without experience. While you do not have it yet, do not try, say, to replace individual elements on the phone board, especially those whose replacement requires the use of a hot air gun.

Step 2

Before taking on any cell phone repair, get yourself a good tool. Regular screws that fit Phillips screwdrivers are only used in Samsung phones, and even then not in all. Other phones use screws that cannot be removed without an appropriate hex screwdriver. An attempt to use unsuitable screwdrivers for this leads to damage to the slot, and, as a result, greatly complicates the disassembly of the phone, or even makes it impossible. So get a set of hex screwdrivers in various sizes. They are sold both by the owners of stalls in the markets and by specialized trade enterprises supplying phone repairmen with spare parts. Get used to buying both spare parts and tools in them, since both cost much less there than in tents.

Step 3

Ask in any workshop for several phones that can no longer be repaired or disassembled into serviceable parts. As a rule, they are ready to give them away free of charge, so long as they do not take up space. On them you will practice disassembling and assembling devices.

Step 4

Clearly work out all the operations for unscrewing and tightening screws, sorting them by length, removing and putting on a roof, loops, displays. When disassembling, learn to sketch, write down and photograph everything that may not be obvious during assembly. Learn not to damage the board and individual components on them, as well as cables, connectors and displays during the repair process. Get in the habit of stacking fasteners and other small parts in a container from which they cannot be brushed to the floor. Do not forget to remove the battery, SIM-card, memory card from the device before repairing.

Step 5

Understand the following rule clearly: if you don't know how to make it out - look it up on the Internet! It is especially important to observe this rule when repairing sliding and folding devices.

Step 6

Never spill alcohol into the display backlight assemblies. The resulting ugly stain is irreparable.

Step 7

Start real repairs only after you have learned to perform all operations clearly, without hesitation. Perform the first few real repairs on machines that you don't mind ruining. Make sure they all work.

Step 8

Having learned how to replace units in phones, start a training session on replacing individual components on boards. First, practice again on devices that cannot be repaired. Even if you are good at soldering, hone your skill by adapting it to SMD components. It is better to learn how to use a hot air gun under the guidance of an experienced master. Remove the display from the hot air gun before carrying out any operations on the phone using the hot air gun.

Step 9

There are cell phone repair courses. If you decide to choose this type of activity as your profession, sign up for them. The cost of training will then pay off in about six months.
