Necessary

Wi-Fi adapter (Wi-Fi network card)

Instructions

Step 1

Install the Wi-Fi adapter into your computer and, if necessary, install the drivers, which should be supplied in one set along with the device. Wait for the adapter to be detected in the system. If you want to use a laptop to distribute the Internet, you do not need to install additional Wi-Fi modules, since the network card of the laptop supports working with wireless networks from the very beginning.

Step 2

Go to Windows Network Control Panel. To do this, right-click in the Windows notification area (tray) on the icon of the current Internet connection. In the list provided, select the "Network and Sharing Center" option. To access the settings, you can also use the "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Network and Internet" menu.

Step 3

In the list of suggested options, click on the "Setting up a new connection or network" link. You will see a window of the wizard for configuring and installing new connections to the Internet. In the list of proposed options, you will need to select the section "Configuring the wireless network computer and computer". After selecting this option, click on the "Next" button, and then again "Next".

Step 4

In the "Network Name" section, enter a name for your future Wi-Fi hotspot. It is desirable to indicate the name in Latin letters. In the Security Type field, specify the type of encryption you want to use on your wireless network. Select WPA2-Personal by default. For the "Security Key" line, specify the password that users will enter when they try to use your Internet. After completing the input, click "Next", and then click on the "Enable Internet Connection Sharing" button.

Step 5

Close the program window for configuring wireless connections. In the "Network and Sharing Center" click on the link "Advanced security settings" located on the left side of the screen. Click on the line "Enable network discovery", then click "Save changes". Setting up the access point is complete and you can connect to it using any device.
