A graphics tablet is a multifunctional and convenient thing. He fell in love with not only designers and artists, but also businessmen, students and all fans of digital creativity. It improves the quality and speed of work.
Instructions
Step 1
To get started with your tablet, you need to connect it to your computer and install the drivers. To do this, you can use the supplied driver or download the latest version from the Internet.
Step 2
Tablet settings can be individual for different programs. Take photoshop, for example. Open the Control Panel (along with the selected application) and select the appropriate icon for the new device. The following tabs are at your service: Buttons (for setting the pencil buttons), Basic (setting the tablet parameters), Tracking Mode (selecting the binding to the coordinate system), Test (testing mode).
Step 3
The functions for the left and right buttons of the tablet are set at your discretion using the menu item "Keyboard shortcuts". In the standard version, these are Ctrl, Shift, Alt, Space, duplicated on the left and right. To change, you need to specify the "name" (a convenient combination of keys) of the button and the action assigned to it. For example, the main functions are: multiple undo (Ctrl + Alt + Z), hide-expand all panels (Tab), switch to "manual" mode ("space"), duplicate the active layer (Ctrl + J), create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N), call another application or Pop-up Menu, or any other.
Step 4
It makes sense to customize the side touch strips, replacing, for example, the function of arbitrary zoom on touch with the function of moving up and down along the ruler or Undo / Redo.
Step 5
Pop-up menu customization (used when there is a shortage of "hot keys") and includes a list of elements available for selection and editing: curves, levels, brightness, brushes, standard colors, color switching, etc.
Step 6
A securely saved Wacom_Tablet.dat file is useful for restoring accepted settings in the event of a system failure.
Step 7
It is better to start adjusting the tablet parameters by setting the pressure sensitivity on the pencil (separately for Photoshop or once for all applications, depending on the tablet model). To do this, a test drawing is created with a large-diameter brush, and by comparing the pressing force and line thickness, your sensitivity level is selected, and a personal stroke is created. Then the brushes are adjusted (numerically or visually): their shape, continuity (smoothness), transparency (depending on pressing force), etc. The dynamics of changes is reflected in the window below. Novice users can leave the existing settings.
The unleashing of all the many possibilities of the tablet will occur along with the growth of your professionalism and creativity.
