It often happens that the old correct lens of your device stops working correctly. Most often, amateur photographers are faced with the fact that the zoom ring is jammed on the lens at the minimum focal length, and it becomes impossible to take pictures. Everyone knows that repairing photographic equipment in service centers, to put it mildly, is not cheap, so we will fix it ourselves.

Step 1
Make sure that your photographic equipment is not under warranty, otherwise, when you disassemble it, you will no longer be able to make claims in case of factory faults. After that, determine the cause of the breakdown - you shouldn't just stick into the lens. A problem such as alignment cannot be solved on your own.
Step 2
Also, if you have an expensive high-quality lens, then it is better to take it for repair (if you have purchased high-quality equipment, then you should not spare the money for repairs).
Step 3
Prepare tools and work area. Make sure that the surface where you will disassemble the lens is free of dust and small debris. Better to cover the table with a white rag.
Step 4
Disassemble the front of the lens. Use the tip of a screwdriver to pry and carefully remove the decorative sticker from the front lens. There are mounting screws underneath. Unscrew them and remove the lens. Then unscrew the cylinder screws and remove the rubber ring from the zoom cylinder. Unscrew the bearing screws under it, which are located in the diameter and pull out the zoom ring.
Step 5
Rotate the lens and start disassembling the rear. Remove the plastic protective ring. There are latches inside it. Pull them back with your finger and remove the ring. Unscrew the 2 screws on the bayonet and remove the contact plate. Then unscrew the rest of the screws and completely remove the bayonet.
Step 6
Carefully pull the cables out of the connectors, unscrew 1 screw of the board and remove it. Replace torn or broken cables as needed. The outer protective cylinder and focus ring can then be removed.
Step 7
Loosen the screws of the mounting ring, remove it and remove the zoom unit by unscrewing the screws that hold it and pulling it out towards the front of the lens. Check the screw that secures the rails. Often the problem is in it. Screw it on and assemble the lens in reverse order.
